My wife and I are saving for a brand new HVAC system

We need a heater and air conditioner to get us through all of the ups and downs in temperatures throughout the year.

I should have used a piggy bank as a kid because it would have taught me better saving habits with money. It’s so bad that I am spending money in my head before I even receive it. I should be thinking of ways that I can put aside money in savings if I need to address a sudden disaster or emergency. This is particularly tough if you have pets and any of them ever need medical attention from a veterinarian. If you’re not putting money aside for emergencies, you better hope that you have available credit on credit cards or some way of drawing a loan from a bank or credit union. Luckily, my wife has done a lot of good towards changing my unhealthy mindset towards spending and saving money. She basically takes my paychecks and allocates the funds for me so I don’t have to worry about unfettered spending. It’s particularly important right now because we are saving every week for a brand new heating and cooling system to replace our dying air conditioner. We need a heater and air conditioner to get us through all of the ups and downs in temperatures throughout the year. Further, we want to get a system with a higher SEER rating than before so we can save on energy bills as well. Aside from the burden of saving money for an air conditioner and furnace, we also have to find a reputable HVAC contractor to do the system installation. Ever since the previous HVAC supplier messed up our initial air conditioner installation job, I have been hesitant to trust random HVAC companies and employees with the same work again.
