Northern Winter ain’t simple

OK, I lay corrected.

It is far more taxing to deal with miserable cold than it is to deal with miserable hot.

This is something that I had to learn firsthand. However, I wish I hadn’t. I just don’t suppose I am taxing enough of the furnace can run enough to get accustomed to this sort of winter. If all this cold was for a week or maybe more than one, I might do a whole lot better. Yet, that is so not the case. It’s almost May plus there are still times the gas furnace will kick on at night. Where I’m from, we’d already be trying not to use so much in order to save on cooling costs. I have never been more cold or more wrong in my life. Colleagues warned myself and others when I took the job that would transfer myself and others to the land of boilers plus furnaces. They said that if you aren’t used to it, the Winter can chop you. I countered with the fact that if I can deal with the sort of summer time heat I have dealt with all my life, I can handle a winter. I was wrong. I’m longing for those killer summers with all that beautiful air conditioned cooling comfort. It’s just so different from being cold plus having the heating sizzling you. It’s taxing to explain however I assume I’ll need to get it figured out. I sure can’t run the gas furnace the way I did this year. I’ll have to lean on the HVAC corporation here in neighborhood to teach myself and others the finer points of how to use the HVAC equipment while I was in the Winter in a more efficient way.
