Not your average dog

I was planning on staying in the coffee shop for only fifteen minutes or so, but after my dog had munched down its dog treats and felt the relief of industrial grade air conditioning, he was out like a light

Whenever I am out at a park or at my friends’ houses, I can’t help but notice how active and outgoing their dogs are. They all seem to be constantly running around the house, wanting to play fetch and go on walks. With my dog though, this couldn’t be farther from the case. My dog is only three years old, but he acts as if he is 20. He never wants to go on walks or play fetch, and he spends the majority of his days inside in the living room where the air conditioning is the strongest. One day I decided to get him out of the house and get him more active by taking him on a walk. The walk was surprisingly going well at first, but quickly started to decline. After about thirty minutes of walking around town he was panting like crazy and looking as if he was going to overheat. I decided to stop at a nearby coffee shop where they have fresh air conditioning, cold water, and dog treats. I was planning on staying in the coffee shop for only fifteen minutes or so, but after my dog had munched down its dog treats and felt the relief of industrial grade air conditioning, he was out like a light. It sure was nice getting my dog out and active like most dogs. I just hope he isn’t too sore tomorrow, because I am planning on upping the time of our walk. As long as he gets a treat or two in the end, I don’t think he really cares.
