I have been reading up on how to save on your heating and cooling! Several stories have said that if you buy a portable space heater and portable air conditioner, and use them instead of your central heating and cooling unit, you could save a handsome fortune on your utility bills, nearly cutting them in half! This is something that sounds too great to be true.
I am considering giving it a try though, using my portable heater and air conditioner half the day, and the central heating and air the other half of the day.
How good of an idea is this? I’m not sure. Portable gas space heaters are pretty cheap, but the portable air conditioners are not. They run around $400 on sale; so, if this plan doesn’t work, it will be money thrown out the windsor. However, I am someone who likes to gamble, so I suppose I will give it a go and see if it is for real. I have been reading this advice on assorted Web sites that I discovered through clicking numerous live links I’ve researched. So, who knows, it could be real or it could be fake! Whatever the case, the more I think about it I think I am going to give it a shot, because it makes sense that portable space gas heating and cooling systems consume less energy than running a central heating and cooling unit all of the time.
