Rethinking my choice of not getting whole house air purifier

I would really like knowing that the whole house air purifier would be producing quality indoor air to breathe.

I really don’t like it when I waffle on a decision. That sort of thing is really out of character for me. I tend to do my research, discuss my thinking with someone and then make a decision. Once the decision is made, I move on. It has been a strategy that has proven to be most effective my entire life. That’s why I am so baffled by my uneasiness when it comes to the whole house air purifier decision. My wife has wanted the whole house air purifier added to our HVAC for years now. She hates the smell of the air inside our house. She is not wrong. I have sealed the house up really tight in order to keep the HVAC treated air inside the house. We live in an area where the HVAC cooling is on for like 7 months of the year. That can get expensive if one doesn’t do what one can to mitigate the HVAC output. However, my wife is right. The air inside the house smells like a mixture of cooking and pet odors. That isn’t pleasant. However, I just couldn’t justify the cost of the whole house air purifier for that reason alone. But now that we are going to be dealing with a pandemic for a year, my decision is not near as comfortable as it was. I would really like knowing that the whole house air purifier would be producing quality indoor air to breathe. This air would be helping strengthen and maintain our immune health. I think that is enough to reverse my earlier decision. My wife will go nuts knowing that the whole house air purifier is a go.
