The other day, my climate control system was having all sorts of problems. It was really struggling to achieve the settings on the thermostat and it was making all kinds of scary noises. So I decided to call the HVAC company and I had a service professional come over to my house to check everything out with my climate control system. When the HVAC service professional had a look at everything, he was a little taken aback. When he came to talk to me about what was going on, he was very disappointed with everything. He asked me when was the last time I changed my air filter, and I told him I wasn’t sure and that my brother usually took care of that. He then showed me the air filter and it was so nasty that it almost made me throw up. He said it was worse than just the air filter, he said that the ductwork really needed to be cleaned. He let me know that everything was so clogged up that it was a wonder that my HVAC system even worked as long as it did. I began to understand the gravity of the situation with my HVAC system. He basically told me that if I wanted my HVAC system to not have to be replaced, then I better start getting regular maintenance and have my air filters changed out every other month at least. So I had the ductwork cleaning and an HVAC system tune up, and I made sure to schedule for regular maintenance moving forward.
