My fiance works from home and winds up spending almost all his time at our apartment. At times, I wish I had a little more alone time in the apartment, but mostly because I don’t want to disturb my fiance. I find myself trying to be quiet or avoid certain areas so as not to disturb him. For that reason, I make the most of my time when he is on a business trip. I try to take advantage of the alone time and do some self care in the form of binge watching movies all night long and ordering Chinese food. I usually end up pretty worn out from the much needed alone time. I also try to do some extra things around the apartment to benefit him and show him I care. I do a deep clean of the entire apartment and I try to catch up on our services. Because he is at home working, it’s difficult to have any maintenance done during the work day. When he leaves, I make sure to schedule our routine heating and cooling maintenance. We have a service plan that allows us to have someone come in and make sure our heating and cooling equipment is lubricated, oiled plus checked over. There is dust plus damage in the system that homeowners don’t always see. I consistently get a yearly check up when he goes. On occasion I even have the ductwork cleaned. This year I am planning on even adding a dehumidifier. As someone who values a clean home, I think it is important to keep up with maintenance of that home, which includes HVAC services. My fiance loves coming home to it, too.
