Terrible winter weather

According to the forecasters in our area, we will be experiencing some of the worst winter weather that we have ever experienced.

Experts are warning that it is more important than ever to make sure that your HVAC units are operating at peak performance in anticipation of this winter. They even gave us a checklist to go through to make that we are ready. First, even if you are not signed up for the semi-annual Heating, Ventilation, and A/C inspection, you are suggested to have a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C professional come to your house to make sure that your oil furnace or heating plan is actually working as it should. It would be really devastating for your house if your heating plan stopped working in the middle of winter, and also, it may be a wise idea to purchase an emergency gas furnace as a backup in case the power goes out. There is a lot of snow and ice storms expected, and you will want to make sure that you have at least one heating plan that you can use if you have no electricity. Also, make sure that you have your house properly sealed to trap the heat that your heating plan is creating, but you don’t want to waste the heat from your oil furnace, and you really don’t want cold and drafty spots in your home. It will also ensure that you are saving money with your oil furnace. An example of this would be to put plastic over your windows to make sure that the heat doesn’t escape through the glass. Your oil furnace is going to need all of the help that it can get.
