I am not the type of person who is very close with my family. I know a lot of people on this planet insist that your family unit is the most important thing in the world. I have to say, I do not feel as good about being around my relatives. Personally, I would much rather spend my time alone and be in control of my world than to deal with the very difficult personalities that are contained in my family tree. This is why I start getting very stressed out each year as the season rolls around. I do not enjoy the holidays, not one bit. I start dreading my family get-togethers around September. I will say, at least the last year of my aunt and uncle had the wherewithal to service their central heating, cooling, and air quality control system before they had guests breathing their noxious indoor air. You see, my aunt and uncle have an unfortunate smoking habit indoors. They are always polluting their indoor air with disgusting, toxic chemicals from their cigarettes. When you walk inside their house it is stale, stagnant, and unhealthy just to breathe. I try not to comment on their disgusting indoor air or lack of filtration system, but it’s difficult to not to cough my lungs out when I am surrounded by all of those airborne contaminants. I will give them credit, at least last year they managed to change their air filter before the family arrived. The indoor air still smelled terrible, but at least I could tell that the HVAC system was running.
