The cabin didn’t have an HVAC system, so we installed a ductless mini-split HVAC

Not to mention, ductwork installation would require breaking into the walls to position the ductwork and I wasn’t trying to ruin the place.

When our kids moved out, my wife and I thought it would be a good idea to sell our larger home and get a nice cabin out in the woods. We were really happy when we finally made the move. It was somewhat difficult selling our home because of all the memories we shared there, but the new cabin was very welcoming and it was entirely cozy. The only downside was that the cabin did not have an official HVAC system. There was a wood burning stove and a fireplace for heating and there was no cooling system. My sons said that we should just install a ductless mini-split HVAC in the place, and we didn’t even need to hire professionals to do the work. I thought that was a brilliant idea and so I ordered the ductless mini-split for the cabin. It really was a smart move because we didn’t have to worry about installing expensive ductwork or anything. Not to mention, ductwork installation would require breaking into the walls to position the ductwork and I wasn’t trying to ruin the place. When we finally had the ductless mini-split HVAC delivered, I was surprised that it wasn’t nearly as complicated as I expected it to be. I did need a little help with moving some of the components around and mounting them, but other than that, the whole installation was a breeze. We were able to complete the HVAC installation within the day and before I knew it, we had excellent heating and cooling in our cabin. I also enjoyed using the fireplace from time to time, so it definitely was a plus to have that as well.
