When I got to work on Monday, my boss told me that I had to do an estimate first thing that morning.
I already had a ductless heating and AC installation job that day and I knew it was going to take most of the day.
I couldn’t believe that my bus scheduled me for a consultation on a day when I had a doctorless heating and AC unit insulation. I asked the guy if someone else could do it and he told me that the client asked for me by name. I didn’t recognize the name on the ticket. I did not recognize the address either. The commercial business was on the other side of town. It was close to my other job at least, so I didn’t have to waste any time going to the other side of town after I was done with the consultation. I didn’t recognize the name on the ticket, but I certainly recognized the face as soon as I walked through the door. The client was an old friend of mine from high school. I didn’t recognize the name because she had been married. I should have known that it was her when I saw the first name, because there aren’t a lot of people with that first name. We talked for almost an hour before I got started on the work part of our meeting. The consultation took a lot longer than I expected, but I didn’t feel upset when I left that meeting. My old friend and I made plans to see each other again really soon.
