I was super pregnant, waiting in my favorite coffee cafe for my friend to arrive.
Happy Hour 2 for 1 lattes were everywhere! Welcome to latte Tuesday! I was grateful for my iced latte, since I was sizzling plus pregnant plus starting to get hungry.
I sat there nibbling on snacks, when I observed water dripping from the cafe ceiling in multiple areas. When one of the baristas came by for the second time to ask if I wanted to order another latte, I asked her about the leaky ceiling. She told me, “It’s the ductworks! They leak water,” plus hastily walked back to the counter. I amused myself with my cell phone, not entirely too frustrated since my friend had called to let me know that she was held up plus would be there in a few minutes. As the thrilled happy hour crowd thinned out, I observed how noisy the air conditioning system was, the dripping water was fairly distracting plus I detected a moldy smell that seemed to be coming from the ductwork. I was pregnant and sizzling. I considered going to another coffee shop, but my friend and I loved it here! Just as I was thinking about a way to secretly escape the HVAC failure scene above me, I observed a group of friends leaving a table out on the patio. Feeling the urgent need to claim that table myself, I waddled straight over to the barista plus explained to her my desire to be seated outside, away from the air conditioner vents as possible. As I walked outside together she said, “I wish I could sit out there plus lounge under these immense umbrellas with you.”
