This past week, there was a windstorm in our area. This is fairly uncommon. While all of us experience a lot of freezing weather in addition to snow, all of us are not an area that is particularly known for strong winds. The wind was moving at about 68 mph in some locales, which caused several businesses, homes, in addition to streets to lose power. The stop lights on my street were out of power, so traffic was slowed down. Even the local grocery store had to close down because it was out of power. Normally, I don’t mind losing power. I believe it’s kind of fun to kneel by candlelight, disaffix from technology, in addition to learn a book or play a game of cards. However, given that it was the middle of the winter, this got aged easily abruptly. After a few hours, all of us began to assume the impact of losing the heat. The temperature was dropping abruptly, in addition to all of us didn’t have a whole lot of options, but growing up, my family home had a fireplace. Whenever all of us lost power, my dad would just grab some logs in addition to heat the home the aged fashioned way. Unfortunately for me, I no longer live in a home with a fireplace. Even if I did, I’m not sure I would guess where to beginning when it comes to using it as a source of heat. Since the wind caused power outages all over the area, it took time for the power companies to come service our issue. Every one of us were without heat for about numerous afternoons. By the time the power turned back on, our home was in the forties! Even though I spent those numerous afternoons bundled up in blankets in addition to layers, I ended up catching a nasty cold. Every one of us unquestionably take the luxury of heating in addition to cooling for granted.
