Varying the routine has never been something that I have been particularly fond of. Structure and staying within that structure have always been very important to me. Doing this has allowed me to get stuff done while also feeling comfortable. Once I get out of my routine, I start to feel really wonky about everything in general. I don’t think I am alone in this feeling. Recently, I had to deal with an enormous shift in my daily routine. Actually, I had to deal with a seismic change in life as I knew it. I have spent my entire adult life getting up in the morning and heading to an office to do my job. That just ended for me with no warning whatsoever. Just as many others before me and plenty to come, my job was eliminated. There was a bit of a severance package and a hardy handshake. But, I was soon left to figure out what comes next. I decided to make a new routine and use my skillset to make a living on my own. Instead of paying for fancy, perfectly HVAC controlled office space, I decided to make my office in my home. It has taken a while but I am getting a handle on it. The room in our home that became my new office needed some definite upgrades. I didn’t want to just fake it, I wanted a legitimate office space. That required the necessary office equipment and furnishings. However, there was another big factor that was missing. My new office was never comfortable temperature wise. I could never get the HVAC just the way I wanted it. So, I called the HVAC company for some answers. Their considered opinion was for me to install a mini split ductless heating and cooling unit in the office. This way, I had my own thermostat and the HVAC unit was mine alone.
