The HVAC technician did not know what he was talking about.

Of all the people who would know about their home, it seems it would be the homeowner. I’m not sure why repair people think that homeowners are oblivious to what is happening in their home. As for me, I know exactly what is going on and if I tell someone there is a problem then there is a problem. I hate it when I call for a repairman and they ask me if the item is plugged in or turned on. What do they think I am, a blooming idiot. I have some intelligence, maybe not as much about the product as the repair person, but enough to turn something on or plug it in before calling about repairs. Last week, I called the HVAC company. I told them my air conditioning unit was acting up. I had recently had the air conditioning unit cleaned and serviced so I was fairly certain that the first time I turned it on, it should work. It was eighty-five in my home, and the air conditioning unit was not working. I checked the batteries in their thermostat and it appeared to be working fine. I checked to make sure I had nothing wrong with the breaker switch for the AC unit. When the HVAC tech arrived, he told me that maybe it was just that I needed a new air conditioning unit? I thought he was kidding, but he wasn’t. He asked when I last had a service done. I asked if he truly worked for the HVAC company, or if he could read? The information was on the sheet in front of him, along with how old the air conditioning was.
