The playground will be open very soon

It usually takes a long time for anything in government to get done.

I would know, because I work for the Department of Transportation.

A few months ago, our community voted to erect a playground in the vacant lot across the street from our neighborhood. The lot has been vacant for at least 10 years and there is constant overgrowth from bushes, weeds, and tricks. It can be a popular hangout spot for homeless people and vagabonds, and a lot of kids use this area for drugs. One of my neighbors wrote a petition to have the town turn the area into a playground. I was happy to see that the item passed the vote last Wednesday. I didn’t expect to see a construction company on the site already. I woke up early this morning when I heard the construction crew arrived. There were three large construction trucks ready to demolish the area and start digging up the ground. I am very surprised to see the construction crew here already, and that means it won’t be long before the playground will be open. I have three children and it’s nice to have somewhere close to take the kids to play. There is a small playground in the neighborhood, but it is constantly filled with people and the kids never have access to all of the playground equipment. The slide has a crack and it can’t even be used. The new playground will feature seven different structures that will allow the children to exercise their body and mind and creativity. It’s exciting to see the process begin.
