Powerful storms plus inclement weather are a normal occurrence in our neck of the woods.
Both of us live in an section of the country known as “Tornado Alley” plus every one of us live on the edge every time the skies darken plus the wind blows.
Growing up I remember always seeing a candle burning in the kitchen window. This is because mom always watches the flame to see if the wind was blowing. If the candle ever blew out, it meant that the storms were coming plus she would ready us for the storm shelter. Both of us lost several of our belongings over the years due to wind plus rain. I can’t tell you how several times our outdoor air conditioning system units had to be replaced. It was adore a revolving door at times plus every one of us knew the HVAC worker on a first name basis. Both of us tried everything to try plus stake it to the ground better however it was no match for a swirling tornado. I even recall 1 time when it ended up almost half a mile away in their neighbor’s yard… Being an HVAC worker in an section with such volatile weather keeps you genuinely busy; Not only the repair people, the warehome people as well because they are consistently having to order current component to replace what has been lost. What are the hardest section about the whole thing is the fact that, unless you have a particular form of insurance, your typical homeowners policy will not cover several of these replacements. I care about the section in which every one of us live because the temperatures are fairly mild most of the year, although I could do without the storms. To this afternoon I too, keep a candle in the window so that I can be prepared in the event of a tornadic event.
