I like when I get new and good-quality things for the house. I have to go long stretches of time without spending too much money. I have to make very strict budgets and stick to them every week or I can’t pour money into my savings account. My parents taught me at several stages of my life the importance of having a savings account at all times. One time they had to do a quick roof replacement after an inspection revealed severe damage to the existing one. If they had not had their savings account at the time, they wouldn’t have been able to pay for the roof replacement. There was another occasion in my life where they’re air conditioner suddenly stopped working one day. Since the air conditioner was already 16 years old at that point, it was no longer under warranty. If my family and I wanted an air conditioner that summer, they would have needed the money on hand to be able to replace the air conditioner since it wasn’t fixable. Lucky for all of us, my parents had the money in their savings account to replace the air conditioner. Right now, I’m using my savings account to get a boiler furnace to replace my fan forced heater. Using an electric furnace and relying on air is not the most efficient way to heat your home. That’s why I’m very happy to be getting a boiler furnace for the first time in my life. I’m hoping it will utilize less energy to heat my house to the same temperatures as the electric heater.
