they won't be back

When some of our better off friends found out that we still didn’t have a finally working heating system, they kindly invited us to stay the night at their house.

During the winter, there is nothing worse on this Earth than having a power outage because of a difficult or exhausting storm. When trees get knocked down under power lines plus the power goes out in most of the city, you can absolutely guarantee that some people are going to have to wait a few difficult afternoons to get their electricity back. The trouble with having no working electricity is that we also lose our heating systems. I can tell you it’s scary, then last winter, while in December, we had a large ice storm that effectively knocked out the power in our area for more than three or four days. During these more than three or four days, we had easily no heating system to keep us comfortably warm, plus we didn’t have any backup sources of heat to utilize either. During the first afternoon, our house stayed pretty warm for a while because we retained the heat from our heating system. However, unfortunately by the next afternoon, it was so chilly that we refused to get out of bed whatsoever. We had to drive to a local gym to get heat from the heating system in the public space, plus we showered there as well. When some of our better off friends found out that we still didn’t have a finally working heating system, they kindly invited us to stay the night at their house. Apparently, their house power was back on, plus we gratefully accepted the offer. Sleeping happily in a warm house with a finally working heating system was awesome that night. Thankfully, the neighborhood power was on the next afternoon, plus our central heating system turned back on.
