This winter is supposed to be a very harsh winter

According to the forecasters in our area, we will be experiencing some of the harshest winter weather that we have ever experienced.

Experts are warning that it is more important than ever to make sure that your HVAC units are operating at peak performance in anticipation of this winter.

They even gave us a checklist to go through to ensure that we are ready. First, even if you are not signed up for the semi-annual HVAC inspection, you are recommended to have an HVAC technician come to your house to ensure that your furnace or heating system is working as it should. It would be absolutely devastating for your home if your heating system stopped working in the middle of the winter. Also, it may be a wise idea to purchase an emergency heater as a backup in case the power goes out. There is a lot of snow and ice storms expected, and you will want to make sure that you have at least one heating system that you can use if you have no electricity. Also, make sure that you have your house properly sealed to trap the heat that your heating system is creating. You don’t want to waste the heat from your furnace, and you definitely don’t want cold and drafty spots in your home. It will also ensure that you are saving money with your heating system. An example of this would be to put plastic over your windows to ensure that the heat doesn’t escape through the glass. Your furnace is going to need all of the help that it can get.
