Trying to adjust my thermostat use in the quarantine

The thermostat being on 80 is totally too warm to have when I am actually at home, though

I see a lot of people on social media waiting for 2020 to come to an end. People seem to think that 2020 is the worst year we have ever had, and I for one won’t dispute that. It’s been a really tough year, but to assume that things will improve because the calendar says 2021 is really, really stupid. No one cares about the calendar except humans, so a virus or a social movement won’t go away just because the year changes. Get real, people, and prepare yourself for the new normal to become permanent. I myself am having a total HVAC system inspection and tune up, to prepare myself for what may be a very long wait. Like most people, I would normally be going to work, and out of the house for at least 40 hour a week, so the AC would be turned up while I was gone. I always left the AC on, because of the extreme temps we get in our area, but I would leave the thermostat set on 80. The thermostat being on 80 is totally too warm to have when I am actually at home, though. Now that I am at home all the time, the thermostat is always set at 76, sometimes 77, so it is running a lot more and driving my energy bills through the roof! I am hoping this tune up I got from the HVAC company will make my system run a little more efficiently. I also need to force myself to turn the thermostat up a couple of degrees.
