Using Crock Pot To Help Air Conditioner

We are smack dab in the middle of the summer, and if there is one thing we should all be doing less of it is cooking.

Cooking with the oven and stovetop during the summer really makes your air conditioner have to go into overdrive.

I am fortunate because I am on this diet that consists almost exclusively of salads and cold proteins, but if you want to cook sometimes, I recommend using the crock pot. The crock pot is one way to cook delicious meals that don’t tax your air conditioner and require you to sweat like a pig. The other day, I stuck some small chuck tenders into the crock pot, set the a/c thermostat up five degrees, and left the house to go to the office. When I got back seven hours later, the a/c wasn’t even engaged. The a/c kept the house at the desired thermostat setting without killing itself. If that had been cooking in the oven, the house would have felt like it was 100 degrees, and the a/c would have been running. In addition to using the crock, you might want to figure out ways to cook delicious meals in the microwave. If you can nuke your food and still have it be delicious, your a/c will thank you. In fact, you will be less likely to need a/c repair and your HVAC unit might even last longer than if you continue to beat up your a/c by cooking throughout the summer. I love to cook eggs in the microwave!
