Using storage container for storage, what a neat though!

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade, isn’t that how the aged adage goes? If you get dumped on, you just need to find a way to turn it around in your favor, but it’s a single of those things that easier to say then to do, but at the same time a little creativity will take you a long way.

I am living proof, a lady stuck out in the middle of nowhere with no real task prospects, who took the junk on her land and turned it into gold, however well, maybe not “gold” but something overpriced enough to pay my bills for me.

I used to feel the pile of aged shipping container near the dump was just another kind of garbage! Obviously whoever dumped 15 cargo containers out there thought they were garbage, too, which is why they took them to the dump. When I found them, I got a odd idea, mostly because my dad made a living with custom welding, and I was a pretty nice welder myself. Our little city doesn’t have a secure storage facility, you guess the kind with lockers and temperature controlled units. I realized that if I fixed up and organized all of these storage containers, I could rent them out individually to locals who needed extra space… Shipping containers are strong, they stay dry and clean inside if officially sealed, and they are easy to lock up. It took me a few weeks to do all the work, but finally it is done, and now I have an office in a single storage container, with 14 others available to rent.
