Using two window ACs in place of central HVAC in a small house

I recently moved into a mobile home for the first time in my life.

I mistakenly assumed they were lower quality homes that would feel like scaled up doll houses from the inside, but I was wrong.

The house I bought looks just like any other house from the inside and out, aside from the noticeable crawl space outside that is always a tell tale sign of a modular house. My community also has a pool and a small gym with treadmills and a tennis court. Last year the homeowners association hosted a cookout for July 4th celebrations and it was a blast. I met lots of amazing people that live in my community that I would have never met otherwise. But one of the coolest parts of living in this new mobile home is not needing central air conditioning or heat. I bought two window air conditioner units—I put one in the living room and the second one in the master bedroom. Between the two machines, my house is easily cooled in a matter of minutes regardless of outdoor weather conditions or my temperature preferences on any given day. They create a somewhat strong air current that pushes around the house with ease, reaching each room and keeping a steady cross breeze while both machines run in tandem. Even though I live in a somewhat warm climate, I bought two space heaters and put them in the same places as the two air conditioners. This way, when the cold winter weather arrives, I’ll have a cost effective way to keep the house warm without wasteful ductwork from a central HVAC system.
