We’re a hockey family

My sons play hockey over the weekend. That means two hockey bags filled with gross, sweaty equipment lives in our house. The boys sometimes forget to open their bags and air them out. This is why they get mold in their helmets and chin guard. Unfortunately, opening the bags is almost worse. I have made the boys only open their bags and keep them in the office. The office in the house then reeks of sweat and body odor for days. Even spraying the bags down and cleaning the equipment doesn’t help. My husband is convinced the office will forever smell like sweaty teenagers. I think what we need to do is invest in an air purifier system for our office space. Air purification systems can install right into the HVAC equipment. As the heating or cooling system turns on, the air purifier will clean the odors circling in the air quality. This will be great since the air quality is not dusty, dry or too moist. The issue is just the stink. Air purifiers are also quite cheap and I think I could install it on my own. The only thing is that our HVAC is a central one with ductwork. I am wondering if I am going to need a more powerful air purifier to handle the smell wafting throughout the whole house. Do I need a super jumbo air purifier since the odors will go through the air ducts when the HVAC is on? I hope not and that the little air cleaner can do it.
