When I finally cleaned the air vents, I simply screamed.

Once a month, I pull out my seasoned vacuum cleaner and wash the air vents and air ducts.

I like to make sure my kids haven’t shoved anything into the air vents that could get into the air duct.

They had done that a few years back at Easter time, and the smell of burnt chocolate permeated the house. Ever since then, I put air duct cleaning on my biweekly cleaning list. The other afternoon, I had my vacuum cleaner out and was laboring on the residing room air ducts. The vacuum seemed to be clogged, so I blew the air in the opposite direction. I had a dead mouse come flying out of the hose, and land on the floor in front of me, however first, I definitely screamed and then I called the heating and A/C company. I told them I was busy cleaning the air vents and air ducts, and there was a dead mouse. He told me to calm down and then asked me to call the exterminator. If I found one dead mouse, there were likely to be others in the house… Once the real exterminator said the condo was clear of mice, they would send air duct cleaners to the actual house. They would wash the air duct and check for ways the mice were getting in. I already knew how the mice got in. My animal was standing in front of me with a dead mouse in his mouth. I was still going to get the air duct cleaned since the mouse was in there, although I didn’t guess I needed the exterminator, although I still let him come out to do his task.
