Working at a beach restaurant with an air conditioner

I work as a waitress at a really big plus popular restaurant at the beach… Although the location is only open from late Springtime until early fall, I make a good deal of money in tips; The location is always packed with people, plus every one of us often have a line of clients waiting to get a table, then we offer both indoor plus outdoor seating, i am required to take care of tables in both areas.

While I prefer most everything about my task, running between the indoor plus outdoor tables is discouraging.

The outdoor patio is located directly in the sun with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Each table is outfitted with a big umbrella to shade the clients. While I take orders, deliver food plus drinks plus clear away dirty dishes, I am exposed to the sun plus end up covered in sweat profusely. Then I stepped back inside, where the cooling system is blasting at maximum capacity. I immediately start to shiver, going back plus forth between the heat plus the air conditioner is really unpleasant! Plus, the wait staff is continually opening exterior doors. Every time every one of us step through the doors, every one of us allow the cool air to escape plus the boiling air to come in. This puts a tremendous amount of strain on the cooling system. It runs non stop plus the owner continually complains about the electric bill. I’ve recommended that the servers either work entirely outdoors or completely indoors, but she refuses to make any variations to operation, and he’d rather pay huge energy bills plus be faced with frequent repairs because the cooling system is overworked.
