I think that everyone should have a fireplace during the holidays

I am one of those people who think that you should have a fireplace during the holidays.

I don’t really know where this belief comes from, but I can only assume that it started back when I was a child at my grandparents house during the holiday season.

My grandparents lived in a pretty small house and for a heating system, they mainly had a wood burning fireplace with a blower motor in it. I loved sitting in front of the fireplace with my cousins and opening Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. The best part was being with my family, but I also loved the magic of the wood burning fireplace and drinking hot chocolate with all of those tiny little marshmallows in it. Now that I’m a grown up and I have a wood burning fireplace of my own, I just can’t imagine spending the holidays without one. I love decorating my mantle and hanging up all of the stockings. I try to make the holidays and my fireplace just as magical as my grandparents did back in the days when I was still a kid. I’m really beginning to think that everyone should have a fireplace during the holidays. Without one, you just miss out on a real sense of wonder and magic. At least common that has always been my experience. I guess a gas fireplace would probably work too, but there’s just something about the smell of a Yule log during the holiday season. If you don’t have a fireplace, there’s still time to have one installed before Christmas!
