I once did a school term paper on energy uses at home.
I started by writing about all the ways we use energy at home from heating the house, lighting, electronic appliances and every other way that I could think of.
I expounded more on the central heating system since it takes the highest percentage of energy consumption. I mostly wrote about a boiler system since it is what we were using at the time. I looked at every heating corp website to gather information on how it worked and the ways one could use to save energy. The one that caught my eye was replacing a dial thermostat with a digital one, this alone could save you almost ten percent of the energy your heating system consumes. I also discovered that getting a boiler repair on time can also save energy because a faulty heating system tends to run more therefore consuming more energy. We were the culprits of this behavior because even when we noticed a fault we did not call the heating provider when we first noticed an issue as long as it was still running. We only had the home comfort business send a heating technician to our home when it stopped working. Replacing the furnace filter was part of every unit even with a new HVAC unit maintenance and care. I did not have much to write about the fireplace since we rarely used it. But all the research I did included different types of furnace filters for sale, heaters for sale and much more about heating. It is also through writing the term paper that I taught my family more about ac care and saving energy.
