Commuting across the ocean

I’ve been in the US for about three months now, but in about a month, I will fly across the ocean and return to my other life. I’m residing over there for a few months, and then I will return to the states once again. I’ve decided that I need to split my time in both countries. I am attempting to follow this cycle for the next few years, if I can pull it off, so that I can see my hometown friends plus family a bit more often. Prior to these last few months, it has been several years since I returned to the US. The local contractor, a wonderful acquaintance of mine, passed away when I was overseas plus I never got to say goodbye to her. This is when I decided that I needed to change my residing plans to allow me the opportunity to return home more frequently. When I returned home for short periods of time, she would let me work for her heating and cooling company to make extra money. I really enjoyed her company, and it doesn’t feel right to come home knowing that I won’t see her. I just wish I got the opportunity to tell her how much I love the work she provided me. Her local company was typically thriving, and I always appreciated the odd jobs she gave me, as I have been an Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C repairman since my dad taught my siblings and I how a long time ago. My dad ran his own Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C company when I was a child so I gained all my knowledge about the trade from him when I was growing up. I may need to find some other work when I come back to help pay for my trips.
