Didn’t see the warning light

I recently within the last year bought a smart thermostat.

I didn’t know a whole lot about the smart thermostat.

Had thought that I had it all figured out and knew what I was doing. I do have to say that the smart thermostat has saved me a lot of money on my monthly electric bills by not having to run the central heating and air conditioning system as much as I used to when I had a regular old dial thermostat. But one day, my central heating and air conditioning system just stopped working! I did not know what was going on because there were no signs that there was anything wrong with my HVAC unit. I nearly called the local heat and a/c company to have them send out a certified heating and cooling specialist to take a look at my central heating and air conditioning system unit. But thankfully, my brother was visiting from out of town when this happened. And the first thing he said to me was to check my smart thermostat as the batteries may have died. I did not even know this, but there was a warning light on the smart thermostat that said when the batteries were getting low and needed to be replaced. Lo and behold this was exactly the issue and why my central heating and air conditioning system fully stopped working. We went to the store, bought new batteries and then my central heating and air conditioning system was fully working once again! It was all on changing the battery in the smart thermostat. I learned something new.
