Exhaust modifications were a necessity.

My husband is a do-it-yourself type of guy.

If he can do something on his own, he won’t hire someone to do the job.

Last week, he took his truck to the inspection center. They told him he needed some work done on his exhaust system, but they weren’t able to work on it. He brought the truck home and got underneath it. He couldn’t figure out how he had missed the crack in the exhaust when he did the preliminary inspection on the truck. He spent most of the day underneath the truck, while removing the exhaust pipes. Once he got them out, he realized it was one complete pipe with some pretty sharp bends in it. He kissed my forehead after eating lunch, and headed out to the car store. He was going to buy a new exhaust pipe. Unfortunately, they didn’t have an exhaust pipe like he needed. They said it was modified and they didn’t have one. He bought an exhaust pipe for the truck and said he would do his own exhaust modifications. The next day, he had his welder and blow torch out, working on the new exhaust pipe. I knew that if he messed up the exhaust modification, he was going to need to buy a new exhaust pipe, but I kept quiet. It was getting dark when he finally came back into the house. He showed me his exhaust modification and said it wasn’t pretty, but it fit perfectly on the truck. By the time Monday came around, the exhaust was on the truck and he was ready to have it inspected.
