I so fumbled the ball on the some of my household responsibilities.
It’s not like I do it on purpose but don’t tell that to my wife.
I can’t blame her because it has to be incredibly frustrating to have a partner who just keeps forgetting fairly important stuff over and over. We have the type of careers that we both come home and flop down in the HVAC just to breathe a minute. There is a lot going on in our lives as well. Our kids are at the age where they have to be places and need a lot of attention. That’s a priority so, we press on and do our best to share the load. Generally, I’m in charge of laundry and cooking while she takes care of the bathrooms and the floors. We split up the other stuff. However, I am also in charge of the HVAC. Now, that’s not too big of a deal really. I make sure the HVAC company comes out twice a year to service the heating & cooling system. Other than that, I really just need to change the HVAC air filter. But, that seems to be a blind spot for me. I don’t care how many times I write it down on my list or set an alarm on my phone, I just forget. It’s a bit of deal because my wife and son suffer from allergies. Having a used up air filter doesn’t help the indoor air quality at all. My best bet here is to somehow have something right in front of me that alerts me to change the HVAC filter. Now, if I could just figure out what that would be.
