My future partner plus I grew up in different states so my pal and I had to make an effort to get to know each other’s families prior to the anniversary.
Once my pal and I announced our engagement my pal and I planned many getaway weekends to visit each other’s homes, then it is about a four-hour ride to her parents house so my pal and I consistently left early in the afternoon to get there in time for brunch, however she grew up where family meal time is easily substantial so I wanted to make a fantastic impression on my future mother-in-law.
I’m not much of a cook myself so I took luck of spending time in the kitchen with her preparing the meals when I could, the only downfall to that was the fact that they don’t have air conditioner in their house plus it was the middle of Summer so it made cooking easily uncomfortable, she had worked that way all of her life so she didn’t seem to notice plus I tried to keep a positive attitude throughout the whole ordeal, but my fiance would joke with me on the way house each time because she said she could tell by the look on my face I wasn’t easily glad spending time in the kitchen. I told him she was welcome to join us plus spend time with her Dad as well but she declined plus said she would rather hang out with her dad in the backyard. I told him that she was lucky because at least she could take luck of a breeze outside plus not be stuck in a hot humid kitchen. I also told him that if she expected me to make family meals everyday I better have a weather conditions-controlled environment to do it in.
