My folks moved into their new beach house, and everyone we knew thought they were crazy to do so. See, their friends acted as though my parents had actually gone off the deep end, but I don’t get what all the Judgment was about! I thought that their decision to purchase this particular beach house was a pretty solid choice. I get how folks are uncomfortable with this particular home and all, but this is also a progressive choice for a home. Recently, my parents decided to buy this fixer-upper beach house with a pretty distinct feature. Unlike its neighbors, it does not have any air ducts in the entire house. While my parents and I understand that people see this as a death sentence, They are used to running a central heating and cooling plan every day! Wrapping their heads around the idea of a decentralized air temperature control plan is just too alien to them. Personally, the idea never bothered me! When I looked at the beach house and found out that it was lacking air ducts, I was pretty gleeful about it as I knew that my parents could just get a few ductless mini-split systems installed instead. This seemed extremely beautiful to me, as it allowed for zone-control Heating and Cooling and every individual space! It also meant that they would never have to worry about having the air ducts cleaned, or a surprise mouse infestation in their walls due to the ductwork being compromised.
