If you don’t entirely enjoy the sun, living in the South is not going to be for the likes of you.
If rainy days and cloudy skies are your thing then don’t even bother moving here.
We got here over 5 years ago. We came down here from the North the same as many others choose to do. We put a cap on our jobs and promptly opted to spend the rest of our days enjoying great weather. No more Heating, Ventilation, and A/C gas furnaces for us. We found a small 3 bedroom beach dwelling in a quaint little town. It was such a great arena with plenty of potential. But, my partner and I were out adventuring so much that we entirely weren’t there all the time. However, I had to get a hip updatement which slowed me up substantially. Since I couldn’t get out in the sun as much as I desired, I brought the sun to me. I had a sunroom added to the side of our little dwelling. It was absolutely perfect. But, it did get awfully sizzling around midday and that was before the Summer heat eventually set in. I called the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C appliance pros in our town to see if they were able to help. I sort of thought they might be able to extend the central air appliance to the sunroom. However, I found out from the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C appliance contractor that would be too much for our system to take. Instead, he made the suggestion of installing a mini split ductless heating and cooling appliance. They are straight-forward to install and the small compressor can easily be hidden under the eaves of the dwelling. We totally went for it. The results have been absolutely fantastic. The sunroom is honestly cooled off with the ductless Heating, Ventilation, and A/C appliance. And, during the winter, it can knock the chill off that room while I am making the coffee.
