As human beings, it’s easy to get used to thinking that we have learned everything and there is nothing more that we could possibly learn.
There’s an old saying that goes, you learn something new everyday, and I couldn’t agree with it more.
For example, my neighbor and I were watching a video of a man holding a possum and talking about it. I noticed the spelling seemed strange. He was calling it an opossum. I thought it was a silly spelling, until my friend told me that you actually say, “opossum.” There is an “o” in the beginning. That baffled me, because somehow I had gone through life without ever seeing that spelling before, but apparently it is the correct spelling! We have a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips these days, and we don’t even go searching and digging and reading near as much as we should. I learned something else recently. My mother wanted me to research different kinds of HVAC units that would be the most conducive for a basement, because she was remodeling her basement. That’s when I discovered that there are actually eight different kinds of HVAC systems! I was only aware of four different kinds of HVAC systems. I knew of course of central heating and air conditioning systems as well as ductless mini split HVAC systems. I also knew that there were window and wall-mounted air conditioning systems and heating systems and that there were portable HVAC systems. It turns out there are also geothermal HVAC systems, floor-mounted HVAC systems, smart HVAC systems, and hybrid or dual fuel systems!
