I have lived in both small towns and in huge cities, and I have to say that I like the small town ones the best.
People are usually just nicer there, even though they are also much more nosey, too.
It’s really interesting to see how people in small towns really want to get all up in your business. I think that it’s probably because they don’t really have all that much going on themselves. Whatever the reason is, it’s one of the only things that I don’t like about living in a small town. Anyway, One of the things that I like the most is the fact that you get to know the people who are your service providers. For example, I have recently had to use our local HVAC company to come in and completely redo my old electric furnace. The house that I’m living in is really old, and the furnace seems like it just grew out of the floor in the basement. In other words, it’s not the most high efficiency furnace that has ever been. When I called the local HVAC company to come in, they were so nice and friendly and they were from a family owned company. I love using a family owned company, and by the time my furnace project was finished, I had met three generations of HVAC technicians. Now I feel like not only do I have a great HVAC company at my disposal, but I also have three new friends to go out and have a beer with on the weekend.
