I replaced a burned out switch on our gas heating system

I replaced a burned out switch on our gas heating system myself.

I mean, I had the switch left over from a contractor job that I had done a few months ago and I decided that I would save myself the trouble of calling to make an appointment with the HVAC company.

I mean, I’m pretty handy around the house most of the time and so I thought I would just save myself some time and money by doing the heating system repair myself. I mean, I always find it pretty annoying whenever I have to wait around for a repairman to come to my house, whether it’s an HVAC technician, a plumber, or an electrician. I think that my time is super valuable, and so I don’t want to have to waste it sitting around waiting on other people to come and do something that I could very well be doing myself. Anyway, I replaced the burned out switch myself with no problem at all. It did not even really take me all that long, and I ended up feeling pretty smart about the whole thing. Well, I guess I should say that I felt pretty smart about it until I found out that I had voided the warranty by doing the heating repair myself! Apparently, you aren’t allowed to do any sort of repairs at all on my specific heating system unless you are a certified HVAC technician, which I am not. I am so mad at myself now for voiding my heating system warranty! I can’t believe that I forgot about that and I voided it all because of a little switch repair.
