Issues with my heating system

I really don’t understand how humans can be so awful sometimes.

You never know when you are going to have the wool pulled over your eyes and disappointment flood through your heart when other humans are involved.

Maybe I’m just especially better, but I am definitely not what you would call a people person after the many painful experiences I have had with our species. I guess this is why I was not surprised when some friends of my family insisted on coming over to help us with a major home renovation… Only to steal our expensive heating, cooling, and air quality control system. For the past few years we have wanted to install a traditional wood-burning fireplace in our house. However, it requires a lot of time, energy, and investment to make this kind of structural renovation. We knew that the alternative heating method would pay for itself by reducing our monthly energy bills over time, but we still had a lot of work to do. When our family friends offered to assist with the fireplace installation we were absolutely thrilled to have them. We showed them around the house, including the old forced air furnace that we were trying to partially retire. The heating system worked just fine but it was not as energy efficient as it used to be. After that, we got to work with the fireplace project and had a very busy afternoon running errands. You can imagine our surprise a few hours later when we attempted to adjust the central thermostat and no warm air came from the vents. When we went downstairs to investigate the furnace, we were shocked to find that the entire heating system was gone. Apparently these supposed “friends” had decided to help us dispose of our heating system.
