During the summer, I have a really difficult time sleeping.
- It gets really hot in my apartment, despite the fact that the AC runs all day and all night.
I think it’s because my apartment is on the top floor of our building. My neighbor always complains about the heat too, and we have been living next door to each other for six years. During the hottest days of the year, the AC unit always struggles. My neighbor and I have spoken with the apartment building manager on several occasions, but they insist that our AC is just fine. I know that’s not the case, because it feels much different on the third floor, then it does on the first floor. My girlfriend lives in the same apartment building, but she is on the first floor. She doesn’t even have to set the AC very cold, and her apartment feels nicer than mine. I don’t know what we can do to help the AC work more efficiently, and we have tried a couple of things. My friend and I cleaned the air vents and the ductwork, and we even change the air filter frequently. I think it’s an issue that we can’t fix, and that means the apartment building manager should be able to help. If I could hire an AC company to look at the problem, I would. Unfortunately, they won’t even come out to look at the system, because it is an apartment building. I guess it becomes a liability issue, since it’s technically a commercial property and not residential.
