Nancy had moved here from abroad.
She was new to the idea of heating and cooling.
In fact, I had to take her through the reasons why she needed to invest in relaxing Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment. She had lived most of her adult life in the tropics so this was foreign. The weather there was relaxing and hot with no extremes. While she had been born in the States and even lived here in younger life, she had forgotten most of it when her missionary parents moved to the tropics. All she knew was enjoying time by the beach when it got too hot by the standards there, and nothing was too extreme or dramatic and as such they never used an AC. However, since she will be working here and the weather can get crazy, I offered to walk through the culture shock with her. I first introduced her to my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C serviceman who helped her choose a relaxing A/C and heating system for both the freezing and hot seasons. Next was teaching her how to use the new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C equipment. She had chosen to transfer back to her parent’s household which had been unoccupied for almost 10 years. While everything else was well inspected, no one lived there so the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system had long ceased to labor officially and the only choice was to change everything which she had no problem doing. My Heating, Ventilation, and A/C contactor was undoubtedly helpful as he professionally guided her on the weird gadgets. He also left his number for further inquiries just in case Nancy was stuck. It would be a few rough afternoons of changing although she was eager to fit it and this helped.
