Learning how to maintain my geothermal heat pump

When you have a geothermal heat pump you have an unlimited power supply, so long as you keep your equipment in good working order.

I haven’t hunted for food in over three years now, but I still keep my skills sharp. I don’t really like hunting, I certainly don’t like gutting and dressing an animal, so I avoid it whenever possible. This is why grocery stores exist, right? That said, the pandemic really spooked me, and reminded me why it is important to be able to rely on myself for food and shelter. If society falls, I can still hunt for my own food, and chop wood for my furnace, so I always have that to fall back on. Of course I don’t want to hunt, and I don’t want to chop wood for the furnace either, so I decided to try something else. Although it is very expensive, a geothermal heat pump would make it possible to live off the power grid, and still run my household electricity. Now, even with a geothermal heat pump I still need to keep my skills sharp, just in case, although it is extremely unlikely it will ever fail me. When you have a geothermal heat pump you have an unlimited power supply, so long as you keep your equipment in good working order. I haven’t had it very long yet, but so far I have an HVAC tech come out to my home every six months to take a look at it. Each time that happens, I always follow them closely, watching everything they do, so I can see the best practices for maintaining the geothermal heat pump myself. Eventually I won’t need to call in the HVAC tech any more.
