I haven’t hunted for food in over three years now, but I still keep my skills sharp. Although it is very expensive, a geothermal heat pump would make it possible to live off the power grid, and still run my household electricity. Now, even with a geothermal heat pump I still need to keep my skills sharp, just in case, although it is extremely unlikely it will ever fail me. Each time that happens, I always follow them closely, watching everything they do, so I can see the best practices for maintaining the geothermal heat pump myself. Eventually I won’t need to call in the HVAC tech any more.
