Making my man cave something special

Part of the reason we got a bigger house was so that I could have a study, a room of my own.

As the dad, your own personal space usually gets lost .I have four daughters and a wife, so I had not had personal space to call my own in well over a decade.

Finally I had a room, which would be part study, part man cave, and all mine. Customer LED strip lighting around the baseboards to start with, a giant plasma screen tv on the wall, a plush sofa and chair combo. I also wanted a dedicated air conditioner for the room, so I didn’t have to rely on the central HVAC system of the house. With so many opinionated people in the house (meaning my wife and kids) I couldn’t risk them running roughshod over the thermostat while I was locked away in my study. I mean, it was fine for them to use the thermostat, but I didn’t want that to impede on my private time. By acquiring this small, portable air conditioning unit I don’t have to worry about my comfort ever again. The thing is small enough to fit under the coffee table, and powerful enough for cooling down the entire room in a matter of minutes. It’s not strong enough for cooling off a whole house, but it doesn’t have to be — it fits my needs perfectly. Perhaps too perfectly, because I have found I need to put the little air conditioning in the far corner, or it will make my legs too cold.
