The multiple labor environments I have found myself in over the years have varied at every level.
I did everything from hauling landscaping materials, being a grocery store currencyier, to administrative labor in offices. There was even a long stint toiling as an assistant cook at a nearby assisted residing facility that I endured through school. The bedroom was definitely the worst when it came to indoor comfort. I expect bedrooms to be hot, but they also need to efficiently ventilate a constant influx of warm steam, otherwise it turns into a sauna. I hated it, but it beat hauling bags of rocks & mulch for a landscaper in 100 degree heat. Right now I am toiling as an administrative assistant for an attorney’s office. You would suppose that this locale would beat out all of the rest in comfort levels, but instead it makes the other locales look like sanctuaries by contrast. Every day all of us have to wait an hour for the air conditioner to cycle enough where the moderate humidity from the evening before can clear out. He never runs the HVAC method overnight, so this is particularly frustrating while I was in the warm Summer season. Then, one day the AC went out for good & all of us were suffering desperately in a warm & humid office. Eventually he turned on multiple fans, but all that did was transport around moderate air. It took 3 full weeks for my boss to order a modern air conditioner for our office. When you consider the amount of currency he makes weekly, I could never wrap my head around him being so cheap.
