I work as an HVAC professional and I got a call for heater maintenance to a home five blocks away from my house. Since the nanny had left I took my 6year old son and daughter with me to work. They were so excited but I was not sure how easy it was going to be to fix or service any heating equipment with them in tow. Lucky for me it was an electric heat pump which would be a lot easier to deal with compared to the complex steam boiler we had to uninstall the previous week. Before we left the house I got a call that a fellow HVAC serviceman was already in the same neighborhood so I was reassigned to a house that was a bit further out of town. The house we were going to also had an electric heating system. The homeowner had ordered a wireless thermostat and a HEPA filter among the HVAC products for sale in the company I work for. They were not expecting a heating technician before noon so I had to call them to make sure that they were home. When we got there I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it was my neighbor’s parents. My kids were very fond of them and so I was at ease working on the heat pump install.
