Ice fishing on the lake is a really fun sport.
My friends and I spend a lot of time ice fishing, because there isn’t anything else to do after September.
Once the lake starts to freeze, we can’t go anywhere until March. My friends and I spend a lot of time outdoors. I work for an adventure company and I go fishing on the weekends. I have a small ice shanty near the east side of the lake. It has metal siding and is made of wood. It is on a frame, so I can move it off the ice when it is starting to get too warm. Ice fishing is not for the faint of heart. I’ve fallen through the ice twice and I had a huge fish smack in the face. It left a bruise bigger than a softball. I also got two hooks in my arm and one on my ear. My buddies drink a lot of beer when we fish and we often spend the whole weekend in the ice shack. We keep a small heater there. The heater provides a small amount of warm air, but it isn’t enough to melt the ice. Without heat, it would be miserable all day. We also have a small satellite television. We can get local news and weather and a couple of sports games. There isn’t a bed, but I do have a sofa and a chair. There is plenty of room for my friends and I to crash on the floor when we don’t want to go home.
