Returning home for the time being

For the last three months, I’ve been living in my hometown, but in a few weeks, I head back overseas to my other life.

I’m living over there for about five or six months, and then I come back here to the USA for about 6 weeks.

I’m hoping I can pull off this consistent rotation, splitting my time between Paris and the US for the foreseeable future. It’s important to me that I make time so that I can see my hometown friends and family a bit more often. I was gone last time from the states for almost two years, which was way too long. A close family friend of mine passed away when I was overseas and I never got to say goodbye to him. This is when I decided that I needed to come home more often and so I changed my living plans accordingly. My friend who passed ran a Heating and A/C company. Whenever I went into town, I would go to his shop and see him, and it hurts to know that I won’t see him anymore. I just wish I got the chance to tell him how much I like the work he gave me. His local company was typically thriving and he always let me come and work the phones in the office when I came back home. I learned the basic heating and cooling knowledge from my dad, since he ran his own Heating and A/C supplier when I was a child. He made sure all of us kids knew about the trade from him when we were growing up. I may need to find some other work when I come back to help spend money for my trips.
