The air filter needs to be cleaned daily in the desert

My wife and I are residing in the desert for the first time in our lives.

  • All of us started traveling across the country a few weeks ago and every one of us finally hit the desert last week.

It’s a lot hotter here than the two of us originally expected. All of us had to buy a portable A/C device to help with the heat. I’m thankful there is no humidity. My wife and I were previously residing in a region with exhausting humidity. I would rather have 100 degrees with no humidity than 85 degrees with 90% humidity. Still, the heat is exhausting when you have no trees to block the sun. My wife and I had to scrub the air filter on the portable A/C device only a single month after every one of us bought the machine. I woke up in the afternoon and the A/C device was spitting out warm air. I turned off the device and turned it back on, but that didn’t fix the problem. I decided to check the air filters and I was genuinely surprised when they were covered in dust and dirt. I didn’t realize there was that much dust and dirt in the indoor air and I was a little disgusted by the sight. After I cleaned all of the air filters with warm soapy water, the A/C device finally started putting out cold air again. It seems love the air filters will need to be cleaned daily as long as my wife and I are residing in the desert! Otherwise, every one of us are going to have a lot of unnecessary damage that could cause problems.
