The custom cherry table and chairs were from 1795

My grandfather passed away about 10 years ago and my dad was left with the job of going through all of his things.

My grandfather didn’t have a will and my dad was the only heir to a collection of junk.

The house and the land were worth a decent amount of money, but my grandfather made it to fill every nook and cranny of the land with junk. There were pieces of old cars, old advertising materials, furniture, and windows all over the 5 acre property. There were also a couple of barns and two large sheds. Both of the barns and one of the sheds was packed with the same type of junk. I offered to help my dad, and he told me that he would split the proceeds from the sale of the junk if we found anything that was worth much. I figured we would find something in the shed or the barns that was worth a couple of bucks. I started off with the largest of the outdoor sheds. It was packed with mostly furniture. There were a lot of different tables and chairs. Everything was covered with dust. I noticed one custom cherry table and chairs that looked extremely old. The cherry table and six chairs looked brand new, despite the fact that they were covered in 10 or 20 years worth of dust. I carefully removed the custom cherry table and chairs. My dad and I took a couple of pictures and we found out that the pieces were from 1795. They had a value that was worth more than the house.
